Great outdoor atmosphere at Midland Brewing Company
Put this place on your pleasant outdoor drinking and dining list of breweries and restaurants in mid Michigan, FOR SURE! Midland Brewing Company is a great place to grab a beer, a bite to eat and a bit of relaxation in the fresh air.
The seating area connected to the restaurant has both shaded and sun-filled areas with the tables in the sun also having green umbrellas…so there’s lots of options… and lots of green with the adjacent sprawling lawn that stretches to a bike path.
The beverage selection includes Midland Brewing Beers (options included IPAs, ales, a sour, a Heff, and more), in-house wines, Red Keg Distillery spirits (rum, vodka, gin and whiskey) and in-house mimosas and bloody marys. As far as food, there’s quite a variety covered with appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees of chicken, fish and beef. The Saginaw Joe Pulled Pork was what caught my eye and the sauce options… Apple Bourbon, Carolina Copper and Spicy Stout, were too tempting not to try. SO good! T’s tip is to be sure to ask for extra sauce!
Out in the “yard,” The Red Keg Beer Garden has beverages available for walk up purchase, lots of picnic table seating, plus plenty of bike racks are available for those pedaling off the trail to “park.” There’s also live outdoor entertainment at times and a large fire pit.
We were in the area for an event, but I’d definitely say this is worth working into your itinerary if you are heading up north, maybe to see fall colors, or for any reason and want to sample one of the breweries and restaurants in mid Michigan. I even think this could be a fun focal point as part of a day or overnight trip. There’s plenty of other things to explore in the area, too!
