Ready, Set … CRUNCH a Great Lakes Apple!
It’s Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch time!
Celebrating National Farm to School Month and local farmers, the seventh annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch is underway!
Schools, early care centers, colleges, hospitals, and other organizations, even families and individuals, across Michigan and the other Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio will CRUNCH into local and regional apples together at noon local time on Thursday, October 14th!
Since 2014, National Farm to School Month has been highlighted with MILLIONS of CRUNCHES across the Great Lakes region.
This COLLECTIVE CRUNCH encourages healthy eating and supports farm to school and local food initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region.
In 2020, 807,796 students, children, teachers, and good food supporters across the region crunched.
The goal for 2021 is ONE MILLION CRUNCHES!
Participating in the Crunch is simple: buy, serve, and Crunch into locally grown apples!
