Why you should drink water
How often do we hear “Are you drinking enough water?,” but do you know why you should drink water? For sure there are lots of reasons to stay hydrated! It’s good for your complexion, it flushes waste products through our body, it moves nutrients through our body, and much more. We are made up of a lot of water so we need a lot of water! Be sure to drink lots of water!
In a previous Millie’s Musings about cleansing the liver we learned that a huge amount of water is needed to clean our livers. It also helps cleanse our kidneys and may help with weight loss. That’s all great! But I never heard before this note from Millie that drinking water may help to decrease chance of developing Alzheimer’s Disease! That’s a new one to me! So now we have another reason to drink water!
According to Millie’s note, we all should drink two quarts of water a day. That’s 64 ounces. Here’s how we should do it!
How to drink 2 quarts of water a day
- Start the minute you get up with 2 glasses. 8 oz. water should run through your system in 90 minutes.
- Do the same at noon. Consume 3 glasses in 30 minutes.
- Then between 5 – 6 p.m. have another 2 glasses.
Supposedly, cold water works best! and this is from a Dr. Robertson mentioned in the note.
So, doing the math, the above schedule and amounts don’t quite add up to 64 ounces. (We aren’t scientific here at Taste It With T:) and are just sharing some information we find interesting that sounds logical and may be helpful. See the disclaimer. 🙂 Please do your research!
To fix the numbers, I’m just going to suggest adding another glass of water between 6 – 7 p.m. There! 64 ounces in!
