Patio season is upon us in Southeast Michigan! And so is the rain!
Patio season is upon us in Southeast Michigan! Make that “covered patio” season due to all the rain, we’ve been experiencing! So this got me to wondering where are the covered outdoor patios so one could still enjoy a meal or drinks outside even if it’s rainy … I did see Chomp in downtown Rochester with what appeared to be (as I drove by) corrugated plexiglass roofing covering the patio pergola .. ingenious! It just looks so nice, rain or not, I want to go there! And I also saw, again while driving by, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse on M-59 near Lakeside Mall, in what’s now being called The Golden Corridor, had a pretty solid looking covered patio. I haven’t been there yet to really know what it’s like, but it’s on my list!? I was just at Sedona in Troy and their awesome rooftop patio has a small portion that is covered. The new Dooley’s on Van Dyke had a cute patio with colorful umbrellas that would probably be ok sit through a sprinkle. And another in Rochester is Penny Black…. At least the bar portion of the patio is covered. Now I found a really protective patio at Brady’s Tavern in Beverly Hills, which I saw people sitting under during quite a heavy downpour … no problem. All these are great to get us going through this rainy spring and good to know about for any rainy day throughout the season. I’m going to keep my eye out for others as the season goes on, too.
